Leonid Taranenko

 Taranenko was a student in the VSS Uradzhai Minsk. He was a student at the VSS Uradzhai in Minsk. He set the world record for the cleanest and most complete lifting in Canberra, Australia, on November 26th in 1988. The total weight of 476 kilograms was the most was ever lifted by him and beat the previous record set by Lasha Talakhadze of Georgia in the 2019 World Weightlifting Championships. Hossein Rezazadeh's record in the 2004 Summer Olympics record of 263.5 kg was broken by Taranenko who was a member of the Unified Team at Barcelona's 1992 Olympics. Taranenko was awarded the super-heavyweight silver medal, with 425 kilograms.
