Kurtis Eugene Warner, born June 22, 1971 is an American former quarterback from the National Football League. He played for 12 seasons in the NFL and was primarily playing for the St. Louis Rams or Arizona Cardinals. His professional career that saw him rise from an undrafted free agent to a two-time Most Valuable Player and Super Bowl MVP, is regarded as being one of the most memorable Cinderella stories in NFL history. After playing in college football at Northern Iowa from 1990 to 1993, Warner spent four years in the NFL without making the NFL roster. In 1994, he was signed by Green Bay Packers. However the team released him before the start of the start of the regular season. In the meantime, he played for three seasons with the Iowa Barnstormers in the Arena Football League (AFL). Warner was hired by the Rams in 1998. He held an assistant position until he was elevated the starting position in St. Louis the following year. Warner was the NFL's first starting quarterback. He was the quarterback who led The Greatest Show on Turf to be victorious in Super Bowl XXXIV. This earned him Super Bowl MVP and league honours. He was awarded the league's second MVP award in 2001, and then went on to win a Super Bowl XXXVI appearance as well as a appearance in Super Bowl XLIII alongside the Cardinals.
