Kuro Sakuragawa

 When he was a kid growing up, he lived in a traditional Japanese house with his many relatives. While he was eating in the company of his friends, he observed that his siblings and cousins appeared to be collapsed and passed away within a matter of seconds. His grandmother has revealed that he had been fed both Kudan and Ningyo meats as part of the Sakuragawa family's goal of creating an individual who could anticipate the future without dying. To see if the food actually worked, his grandmother submitted him to many experiments that involved cutting him open to the point he either stopped feeling pain or it didn't affect him. He was one of the few survivors along with his cousin Rikka He leads a relatively normal life as a high schooler with an ex-girlfriend, Saki Yumihara, and later, going to the same school as her. At this point He also sees Rikka at the hospital she confessed to, going regularly enough to ensure that nurses are aware of his name, and Saki goes with him to make sure they don't flirt with him. He was a sophomore at H-university as well as a student at their law school. Eventually, Saki finds out the truth about him after the two come across a kappa after visiting a shrine after which the kappa fled in fear. This prompts her to break the ice with him and move away to a different city to work immediately after graduation.
