Joseph Morgan's first ever audition as an actor was for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for Tom Riddle. [3The audition for Morgan was Troy's first TV appearance in the Sky One series Hex. He also has appeared in supporting roles in movies such as Alexander and Master and Commander The Far Side of the World and BBC Two's The Line of Beauty. Morgan has also been a part of the television show Doc Martin and Casualty and co-starred in Mansfield Park with Billie Piper. In 2010, he played the role of the title character in the mini-series "Ben Hur" which premiered on CBC television in Canada and ABC TV in America, on April 4, 2010. Morgan played Niklaus Mikaelson in The CW's The Vampire Diaries. He also was Lysander in Immortals in 2011, along with Henry Cavill. BuddyTV has ranked him as number 84 on its list of "TV's Sexiest Men of 2011". The show premiered in January 2013. backdoor pilot for The Originals, a spin-off series of The Vampire Diaries, began airing with Morgan playing Niklaus Mikaelson. In the year 2020, Joseph Morgan starred in Peacock's science fiction thriller Brave New World as CJack60/Elliot.
