Friendship

Friendship is an inter-personal relationship that is characterized by mutual affection between people. The bond of friendship is greater than "acquaintance" as well as "association" such as a classmate or neighbor, coworker or colleague. In certain societies, the notion of friendship is restricted to a few very deep relationships; in other cultures, like the U.S. and Canada, a person could have many friends. They may also have a more intense relationship with just a few peoplewho are known as good or best friends. Other colloquial terms are besties, or Best Friends Forever (BFFs). Although there are many forms of friendship, some that may differ from one location to location there are certain traits that are common in many such bonds. These characteristics include being with each other, spending time with each other, and being in a position to and willing to assist one another. The friends zone is in which a person is unable to becoming the status of a lover (see the article Unrequited Love).
