Cry Macho (film)

 Cry Macho, a 2021 American Neowestern drama film, produced by Clint Eastwood and produced by Nick Schenk. It was written by Nick Schenk (based on Nash’s 1975 novel). Eastwood is Eduardo Minett, a rodeo actor who is hired to reunite him with his father (Dwight Yoakam), in Mexico. There have been numerous attempts to adapt Nash's novel into a movie over the time. In the year 2011, Arnold Schwarzenegger was brought on to star, but the film was canceled because of an incident. In 2020, Eastwood's adaptation was announced. He produced the film along with Albert S. Ruddy, Tim Moore, and Jessica Meier.Cry Macho was shot in the state of New Mexico; Ben Davis was the cinematographer, Mark Mancina was the composer and Joel and David Cox were the editors. Cry Macho was theatrically distributed in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures on the 17th of September and 2021. The film was launched simultaneously on the HBO Max streaming site for the duration of 31 days. It was a failure commercially as it did not do well in the theater, grossing $16 million from the budget of $33 million and received mixed critiques from reviewers. The film was criticized for its screenplay and positivity for its soundtrack and scenics as well as Eastwood's performance. reviewers.
