Clint Bowyer

Bowyer started racing at age five in the motocross. He was able to collect over 200 wins and numerous championships in the following eight years. He began street stock racing at Thunderhill Speedway, Mayetta, Kansas in 1996 and was the winner of the Modified championship in 2002. Bowyer had 18 wins as well as 32 top-five finishes on his way to capturing the 2001 Modified championships at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas and Heartland Park Topeka. Bowyer began racing in 2002 in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series. Bowyer scored 9 poles, 12 wins, as being a top-five finisher with 32, which earned him a second-place finishing in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series National Point Standings. He was also crowned the 2002 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Midwest Champion following a second Modified championship at Lakeside Speedway and a Late Model championship at the renowned I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Missouri, his first attempt at racing on asphalt. In 2003, Bowyer raced a full season in the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division Midwest Series and scored a top ten finish in his 11 races. After winning 47 laps at Nashville Superspeedway and finishing second, Bowyer was offered a job by Richard Childress, the legendary owner of the automobile. Bowyer thought Childress was joking about him and gave up. Childress called back soon afterward and in a sour voice, he gave the job to Bowyer
