Bill Cosby

 William Henry Cosby Jr. (/kazbi/KOZ-bee 12 July 1937) was an American comedian actor, media personality and actor. He was a significant contributor to American and African American culture. He earned the title "America's Dad" because of his portrayal as Cliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show (1984-1992). In his lengthy career, he's been awarded numerous honorary degrees and awards. Many of these were revoked following allegations of assaulting a woman in 2014. Through the decade his stand-up career took off, he released a number of stand-up comedy records that were consecutively awarded him the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album between 1965 and 1970. He also had a lead role in the television crime show I Spy (1965-1968) opposite Robert Culp. Cosby was the first African American to win an Emmy Award in acting when he was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award in 1966 for Outstanding Lead Actor in an Drama Series. His acting career continued when his role on the sitcom The Bill Cosby Show, which ran for two seasons from the year 1969 until 1971.
