Ariana Grande-Butera (/,a:ri'a:n@ 'gra:ndeI/ AR'ee-AH-n@ GRAHN-day; [note 1] born June 26, 1993) is an American musician, singer and actress. Her vocal range of four octaves has earned her praise from critics. She has also attracted media attention due to her private life. She has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including two Grammy Awards, one Brit Award, one Bambi Award, two Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards, nine MTV Video Music Awards, and 30 Guinness World Records.Grande started her musical career at the age of 15 with the year 2008's Broadway musical 13. Her fame grew due to her playing Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon TV series Victorious (2010-2013) and Sam & Cat (2013-2014). After watching YouTube videos of Grande covering songs, Republic Records signed Grande in the year 2011. The 1950s-style doo-wop influenced pop and R&B debut album,[2] Yours Truly (2013) it was the top album of the US Billboard 200, while its lead single, "The Way", was a top 10 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100. Grande's voice and whistle register on the album immediately drew the comparisons of Mariah Carey.
