Angela Griffin

 Angela Mellissa Griffin (born 19 July 1976) is a British actress and TV presenter, who has been a regular on British television since the beginning of the 1990s. Her roles include Fiona Middleton, a British actress and presenter, in the ITV soap drama Coronation Street (1992-1998), Kim Campbell in BBC One's drama series Waterloo Road (2006), from 2009 to 2010 (2023-present), Lizzie Maddox in ITV's final two seasons of detective drama Lewis (2014)-2015. Griffin was also an original cast member of Holby City, playing nurse Jasmine Hopkins (1999-2001).Griffin attended Intake High School in Leeds. She was born on Cottingley Estate, near Beeston. Her parents were an English mother and a St Kitts father. Griffin appeared on Coronation Street, a long-running ITV soap opera. She was a guest star in the year 2019. [3] Griffin was a part of the ITV soap opera Emmerdale in 1993, playing an unimportant character named Tina. She was later included in the BBC One medical drama series Holby City, playing Tina as a minor character. But, she resigned from the show towards the end of 2001 because the next series was expected to be longer. Griffin has also been featured in the BBC dramas Cutting It and Down to Earth In October 2001 Griffin presented Brown Britain, a programme on the Channel 4 in the United Kingdom. Channel 4 about mixed race people living in British society. From 2006 until the year 2010, Griffin was a co-star with Jason Merrells, former Cutting It star and Denise Welch's Coronation Street co-star in the BBC One drama series Waterloo Road. The show was cancelled during the third season in late 2007/early 2008, but she returned for the fourth series 2009. She resigned after the fifth series, however, she returned to the part in 2009 for her new Sky1 daytime show, Angela and Friends. The show, which included celebrity gossip and health topics and ran from November 2009 to July 2010. The show was hosted by her best friends Lisa Faulkner and Nicola Stephenson. [8] In 1999, she presented The Midweek National Lottery and also took part in the BBC's millennium program on New Year's Eve. She also filmed a pilot for Dishes for Channel 4 but she decided not to show it when it was chosen for commission. In March 2008 Griffin was on Murder Most Famous where she, along with five other celebrities wrote a crime story under the direction by Minette Walters. The final prize was to have the winning novel published. It was won by former Coronation Street co-star Sherrie Hewson.In January 2010, Griffin and Gethin Jones presented Sky 1's coverage of the Golden Globes. Griffin was a part of the initial two seasons of Sky TV's comedy drama Mount Pleasant. She also hosted Emergency on Sky1 together with Angela Griffin. Griffin was among the three finalists in The Great Sport Relief Bake Off on BBC Two in January 2012. In 2013, Griffin played Dolly, in the show One Man Two Guvnors. Griffin starred in ITV's Lewis series as DS Lizzie Maddox, both in 2014 and in 2015. [12] From 5-9 January 2015, Griffin and Kian Egan co-hosted Fat Pets: Slimmer of the Year for ITV.Griffin played a regular role in the role of Elizabeth Harvey in the third series of Harlots. Griffin and Matt Baker co-hosted The One Show on BBC One in September 2018. Griffin also played the part as Stevie Hall, a Canadian detective in October of 2018. Griffin hosted BBC Radio 2's Unwinds starting in August 2021. In September 2021, Griffin also started sitting as Steve Wright on Sunday Love Songs at various times on the station In January 2022, it was announced that Griffin will once more reprise her role as Kim Campbell for a new series of Waterloo Road, with her character now promoted to Head of the School. [15] In April 2022 Griffin was a part of the Netflix Horror film Choose or Die in the role of the main character's mother Thea.
