 Tyler Perry (born Emmitt Perry Jr. 13 September 1969)[1Tyler Perry is an American actor comedian, actor, filmmaker, and playwright. Perry is the performer and the creator of Madea an older woman who is strong. [3][4][5The Perry films range in style from traditional filmmaking techniques to filmed productions live stage shows. Many of Perry's stage-play films were later transformed to feature films. He also created numerous television series, the most notably Tyler Perry's House of Payne, which was on for eight seasons on TBS from 2006 to 2012. In 2011, Forbes listed him as the highest-paid person in entertainment and earned US$130 million between May 2010 and May 2011. 6. Perry formed an exclusive partnership with Oprah Winfrey (OWN) in 2012 for a period of several years. Based on Perry's success in this area, the partnership was made primarily for the purpose of bringing scripted television to OWN. [7] Perry has created multiple scripted shows for the network, with The Haves and the Have Nots crime drama being its most successful. The Haves and the Have Nots provided OWN the highest ratings during its 8-year run. The series was has been hailed as "one of the network's most successful series with its daily comedy, filled with the typical betrayals, affairs and manipulations. "Perry also acted in movies that were not made, directed or written by him, like Star Trek (2009)'s Admiral Barnett, Tanner Bolt, in Gone Girl (2012), and Baxter Stockman, in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016). Perry also appeared in Vice (2018), Vice (2018), Arthur, in The People Who Wish Me Death (2021) as well as Jack Bremmer, in Don’t look Up (2021). Perry has also voice-overs for animated films like The Star (2017) and PAW Patrol: The Movie (2021).
