Kate Upton

 Upton was born in St. Joseph (Michigan). Upton is the daughter of Shelley Davis (nee Davis) who was a former Texas state tennis champion as well as Jeff Upton (high school athletics director). Her uncle is U.S. Representative Fred Upton. [8][9] Upton's great-grandfather, Frederick Upton, was co-founder of appliance manufacturer and marketer Whirlpool Corporation.In 1999, Upton moved with her family to Melbourne, Florida, where she attended Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy. As a young equestrian, she competed in the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) and competed on a national scale. She won three APHA Reserve World Championships with her horse Roanie (13 and Under Western Riding), 13 and under Horsemanship and 14-18 Western Riding. Upton won the title of 13 and under Reserve All-Around Champion. This gave her a total of four reserve championships (2nd second). Upton was also third overall in the APHA youth Top Twenty. [15] With a second horse, Colby,[14] she won 14-18 Western Riding and was included as one of the top 5 horses in 14-18 Horsemanship as well as 14-18 Western Pleasure in 2009.
