Jennifer Kate Hudson (born September 12, 1981), also known by her nickname J.Hud is an American actor, singer, and talk show host. Through her entire career she has been awarded numerous accolades for her works in recorded music, film television, theater, and film. Hudson became the youngest woman and second African-American woman to be awarded all four of the major American entertainment awards: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony (EGOT). [1] In 2013, she was also awarded a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was a finalist in American Idol's third season 2004, where she placed seventh. Her first film role was Effie in Dreamgirls (2006). She received the Academy Award in Best Supporting Actress for the movie. She became the youngest African-American winner of the competitive acting category. Hudson was signed to Arista Records in 2008. The self-titled debut album of hers was certified Gold in the US, UK and won the Grammy Award. Hudson's subsequent albums, I Remember Me (2011), JHUD (2014) and JHUD (2014) each charted in the top ten on the Billboard 200. The former was also certified Gold in the United States.
