Jami Gertz

 Gertz was discovered through a national talent hunt through Norman Lear and studied drama at NYU. When she was a young actor, Gertz was in one episode of Diff'rent Strokes along with Andrew Dice Clay. She also had a recurring role on The Facts of Life as Blair's best friend and schoolmate Boots St. Clair. Gertz made her debut in film in the 1981 romance film Endless Love, which was then followed by a co-starring appearance in the sitcom TV series Square Pegs. She gained more significant attention through her starring part in the 1987 film Less than Zero, as the friend of a doomed drug addict played by Robert Downey Jr. She also appeared in 1987's film The Lost Boys as Star as her "half vampire" girlfriend, with Kiefer Sutherland and Jason Patric.After working in Paris as a scent designer for Lanvin, Gertz returned to the United States and landed a crucial role as a support character in the blockbuster film Twister after films like 1986's Solarbabies and Crossroads, the 1989 movie Listen to Me with Kirk Cameron, The Boyfriend School, and Jersey Girl. She was Jerry's girlfriend and works as an operator on the telephone for sex. In 1994, she was Sarah in the TV film This Can't Be Love starring Katharine Shepburn, Anthony Quinn and Jason Bateman. Gertz was later cast as the character who was recurring Dr. Nina Pomerantz during the 1997 season of ER. Gertz was reported to have been offered the part as Rachel Green during preproduction of Friends, but she declined. In 2000, Gertz took on a regular role as Kimmy Bishop, John Cage's love interest on Fox's hit Ally McBeal. Gertz received nominations for an Emmy for Outstanding Guest actor in a Comedy Series. In 2002, she reprised the role as a guest star on one episode of the show's final season. In 2002, she played comedian Gilda Radner in the TV movie Gilda Radner's Always Something. [5] Gertz's character on Still Standing, Judy Miller is named after a character Radner played on Saturday Night Live. Still Standing, a television sitcom in which Gertz co-starred alongside Mark Addy and which originally aired from 2002 to 2006 was her longest-running, and most successful television show to date.
