Evander Holyfield

 Evander Holyfield (born October 19 1962) is an American former professional boxer who was a champion between 1984 and the year 2011. In the 1980s, he was the undisputed champion at the cruiserweight division. He also held the title in the heavyweight division throughout the 1990s. Holyfield was also referred to as "the Real Deal", is the sole world heavyweight champion. He was the holder of the WBA, WBC and IBF titles from 1990 to 1992 and again from 1993 to 1994. Holyfield was an amateur and won the bronze medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics for the United States. When he turned 21 He was a professional fighter, and moved up into the cruiserweight division in. He beat Dwight Muhammad Qawi to win the WBA title. Holyfield later went on to beat Ricky Parkey and Carlos de Leon to take home the WBC and IBF titles, making him the reigning cruiserweight champion. In 1988, he made the move to heavyweight, where he later beat Buster Douglas to win the WBC, WBC, and IBF heavyweight titles. Holyfield then suffered his first professional loss against Riddick Bowle in 1992. Holyfield took back the title in a rematch against Bowe one year later. Bowe had previously lost the WBC title. The titles were reclaimed by Holyfield in 1994 during an upset win over Michael Moorer. Holyfield had to retire from the sport due to health concerns in 1994, but he returned a year later and was in great health. He defeated Mike Tyson in 1996 and was able to regain the WBA title. The fight was dubbed by The Ring magazine the Fight of the year and also the upset of the year. This was the first time that Holyfield the first boxer since Muhammad Ali to win a world heavyweight title three times. Holyfield won a 1997 rematch against Tyson and was a draw in the third round for biting off a portion of Holyfield's ear. During this reign as champion He also made amends for his loss to Michael Moorer and reclaimed the IBF title.In 1999, he fought Lennox Lewis in a unification fight for the undisputed WBA, WBC and IBF titles, which ended in an unpopular split draw. A year later, Holyfield lost to John Ruiz in another rematch. The next year, he beat John Ruiz for the vacant WBA title, becoming the first boxer in history to be able to claim the heavyweight title 4 times. Holyfield lost the rematch against Ruiz seven month later, but was able to take on Ruiz again in a draw. He quit in 2014. The current ranking is No.91 in BoxRec's rankings of the greatest boxers in pound-for-pound of all time.BoxingScene ranked him the greatest cruiserweight ever of all time.He is also the only boxer to hold world titles over three distinct decades during the 1980s, 1990s and in 2000.
