Marshall Bruce Mathers III, born on 17 October 1972, is an American musician and record producer. His popularity in hip-hop is widely recognized and he's recognized as one of the most powerful rappers of the past. Eminem's global success and well-known works have been widely acknowledged as having broken down racial barriers that prevented white rappers from being embraced in popular music. While his actions in the late 1990s and early2000s were debated, he became a symbol of American angst and was cited as an inspiration for numerous artists. In 1999, Eminem signed to Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment. The Slim Shady LP gained mainstream success. The two albums that followed, The Marshall Mathers LP (2000) and The Eminem Show (2002) was a huge success worldwide and were both nominated to win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Following the release of his second album, Encore (2004), Eminem was on hiatus from 2005, mostly due to an addiction to prescription drugs. [3] He returned to the music business after four years with the release of Relapse (2009) and Recovery came out the following year. Recovery was the best-selling album in the world of 2010 which made it the second album, following The Eminem Show in 2002 and the top-selling album of the year globally. Eminem released the US top album Revival (2017) and Kamikaze (2018) during the time that followed.
