Celine Dion

 Celine Marie Claudette dion [aCC OQ] was born on the 30th of March, 1968. Dion is well-known for her powerful and technically proficient vocals. Dion is also the top-selling Canadian artist, and also the highest-selling artist in the French language. Her music encompasses rock, pop and R&B along with classical and gospel music.

Dion was born to an extensive Quebec family living in Charlemagne. She was a sensation as a teenager, with several albums in French in the late 1980s. In 1982, she was the winner of the Yamaha World Popular Song Festival and the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest. She was a representative of Switzerland. After she had learned English she signed on with Epic Records in the United States. The first album in English by Dion, Unison was released in 1990. It established her as an international pop star throughout North America and other English speaking areas. While her songs have mostly been composed in English and French however, she has performed in Spanish as well as German. Some of her number-one international hits comprise "The Power of Love" and "Think Twice, "Because You Loved Me" and "It's All coming back to Me Today, "My Heart Will Go on" and "I'm Your Angel". Between the release of each English album, Dion released French albums; D'eux (1995), which was the top-selling album in French and was then followed by Sans attendre (2012) and Encore Un Evening (2016). The three albums were recognized as diamonds by France. Dion was a popular show-goer in the decade of 2000. Although she has received negative criticism, Dion is still regarded as one of the most powerful and popular artists of pop music. Five Grammy Awards have been won by Dion and her albums, including Record of the Year and Album of the Year. Through her long career, Dion was known as the "Priestess of Pop" and was given two honorary Doctorates of Music degrees by Berklee College of Music. In 2003, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry honored her for having sold over 50 million albums across Europe. Dion was the highest-selling international artist from South Africa in 2008. The Los Angeles Times named Dion the highest-earning artist of the decade, with concert and album revenue exceeding $747 million by the close of 2009.
