Vanilla Ice

 Robert Matthew Van Winkle, also known as Vanilla Ice (born October 31, 1967) is an American actor as well as rapper, as well as television host. Ice was born in South Dallas and raised in Texas and South Florida. He released Hooked in 1989. In 1990 the year he signed a contract with SBK Records. This record label, which is part of EMI Group's EMI Group, released a remix of To the Extreme in 1990. It included Ice's most well-known songs, "Ice Ice Baby" and the cover version of "Play That Funky Music". Ice Ice Baby was the first hip-hop single to reach the top spot on the Billboard charts. He was born in South Texas and raised in Texas and Florida. In 1989, Ice released Hooked, his debut album. SBK Records, a record label which is part of the EMI Group signed a deal with Ice. The reformed version of the album was released in 1990 under the name To the Extreme. It contained Ice's best-known hits, such as "Ice Ice Baby" and an original cover of "Play That Funky Music". Soundtrack appearances and a live album called Extremely Live, continued the momentum, but the second studio album that was mainstream, Mind Blowin', featured an image change which saw a massive decrease in popularity for Ice and his subsequent albums, including Hard to Swallow, Bi-Polar , and Platinum Underground were unable to be charted or get much radio airplay. In 2009, Ice began hosting The Vanilla Ice Project on DIY Network.
