Steven Victor Tallarico, born March 26, 1948 was an American singer who is best known for his lead role in Aerosmith's rock group from Boston. He also plays the harmonica and piano. The power of his voice and high volume of voice makes Steven Tyler the "Demon of Screamin'". His on-stage acrobatics are also an important aspect of his career. When performing, Tyler usually dresses in vibrant (and often androgynous) clothes and makeup, with his signature scarves that hang on his mic stand. In the 1970s, Tyler rose to prominence as the lead singer of Aerosmith and released albums of hard rock such like Toys in the Attic and Rocks and numerous smash singles, including "Dream On", "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way". By the late 1970s and the beginning of the 1980s, Tyler had a heavy addiction to alcohol and drugs and the group's popularity declined. In 1986, Tyler was able to complete his rehabilitation for addiction and Aerosmith rose to prominence again when Tyler as well as Joe Perry joined Run-DMC for an re-release of "Walk This Way" that became an Top 5 hit. Aerosmith later made a comeback with the album that was multi-platinum: Permanent Vacation, Pump, Get a Grip and Nine Lives, which produced a combined thirteen Top 40 singles and won the group numerous awards. The band embarked upon their longest concert tours and promoted their songs with conceptual music videos, and made appearances in television, film as well as video games. Since the late 1980s, Tyler has embarked on several solo endeavors, including appearances on stage with artists such as Alice Cooper, Motley Crue, Santana, Pink and Keith Anderson, film and television work, as well as writing an autobiography, as well as solo music, such as the Top 40 single "(It) Feels So Good" in the year 2011. The tensions between him and his Aerosmith bandmates boiled in 2009 and in 2010 following Tyler fell off stage at a concert, suffered a relapse from prescription medications, and was treated in 2009 and signed on to American Idol without telling his bandmates. After over 50 years with Aerosmith, Tyler continues to record and perform with Aerosmith. Tyler's debut solo album "We're All Somebody from Somewhere", was released in 2016. It included the country-rock single "Love is Your Name". Tyler performed in support of the album through the "Out on a Limb Tour". Tyler is still performing both on his own with the backing of the Loving Mary Band, and with Aerosmith.
