 Eilleen Regina "Shania" Twain [1"Shania" Twain[1 OC (/aI'li:neye-LEEN/ /S@naI@/; born Edwards; born on August 28th in 1965) is a Canadian artist and singer. She is the most-sold female artist in country music history, and is the top-selling artist ever. Her success has earned numerous awards such as "Queen of Country Pop". [5][66 Billboard declared her the leader of the 1990s country-pop crossover stars.Raised in Timmins, Ontario, Twain was a singer and songwriter from a young age before joining Mercury Nashville Records in the early 1990s. Her 1993 self-titled debut album was a failure commercially. Following a collaboration with producer and later husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange, Twain gained notoriety through her second studio album, The Woman in Me (1995), which brought her widespread success. The singer-songwriter was awarded an Grammy Award for her album that sold more than 20 million copies in total. It also spawned eight songs which included "Any Man of Mine". [10] Her third studio album, called Come On Over (1997), became the top-selling studio album of female artists in any genre, and also the best-selling country album of all time, selling more than 40 million copies around the world. 11] Come On Over was the result of 12 singles which included "You're Still the One", "From This Moment On", "That Don't Impress Me Much" and "Man! I Feel like A Woman!" and earned Twain four Grammy Awards. Her fourth studio album, Up! (2002), spawned eight singles, including "I'm Gonna Getcha Good! ", "Ka-Ching!" and "Forever and Forever" that sold more than 20 million copies across the globe. The album was also certified Diamond in the United States.
