Sean Connery

 Sir Sean Connery (born Thomas Connery; 25 August 1930 30 October 1930 - 31 October 2020) was an actor from Scotland. Scottish actor. Connery was the first actor to portray the fictional British secret agent James Bond on film, playing in seven Bond films between 1962 and 1983. [1][2][3The actor Connery was the first actor to play Dr. No and made his final appearance as Bond in Never Say Never Again. After his second appearance as Bond in Goldfinger (1964) in June 1965, Time magazine observed "James Bond has developed into the biggest mass-cult hero of the decade".Connery started acting in small theatre and TV productions prior to his breakthrough performance as Bond. Although he did not enjoy the extra-screen attention his character gave him, the success of the Bond films earned Connery offers from prominent directors like Alfred Hitchcock, Sidney Lumet and John Huston. Their films that Connery appeared include Marnie (1964), The Hill (1965), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), and The Man Who Would Be King (1975). A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (86), The Name of the Rose (86), The Untouchables (87), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (89), The Hunt for Red October (90), The Hunt for Red October (90), The Hunt for Red October (90), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996) and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery officially stopped acting in 2006 but he returned for voice-over roles in 2012.His accomplishments in the field of film were recognized with the Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (including the BAFTA Fellowship), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was awarded the US Kennedy Center Honors lifetime achievement in 1999 and Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters France in 1987.
