Rita Hayworth

 Rita Hayworth, born Margarita Carmen Cansino, on the 17th of October 1918, and passed away on May 14, 1987. She was an American actress. Her fame was a result of the 1940s, when she was among the most prominent actors of the time and appeared in 61 films within 37 years. Hayworth was the most renowned screen star of the 1940s and the press even used the term "The Love Goddess", to describe Hayworth. Hayworth was the most popular pin-up model for GIs during World War Hayworth is perhaps most famous for her performance in the 1946 film noir Gilda with Glenn Ford, in which she was the femme fatale, her first dramatic role. Her other notable roles include her performances in Only Angels Have Wings (1939), The Strawberry Blonde (1941), Blood and Sand (1941), The Lady from Shanghai (1947), Pal Joey (1957), and Separate Tables (1958). Fred Astaire, who she created two films with, You'll Never Get Rich (1941) as well as You Were Never Lovelier (422) described her as his most favored dance partner. Together with Gene Kelly, she starred in the Technicolor musical Cover Girl (1944). Hayworth is listed as one of the top 25 female motion picture actors from throughout time by American Film Institute's study The AFI's 100 Years...100 Stars.In 1980, Hayworth was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease. This caused her to die in 1987 at age 68. Her public disclosure and the public discussion about her condition brought attention to Alzheimer's, and helped boost public and private funding for research into the disease.
