Ray J

 He signed with Elektra Records in 1995 and started recording his debut album Everything You Want the same year. The album, which was released in the month of March 1997 was the source of the leading single "Let It Go", that was featured on the Set It Off soundtrack. "Let It go" reached the 25th spot in the U.S., and number 11 in New Zealand. The second single peaked at number 54 on the U.S. R&B chart. In 1997, he was sacked from the label. He made an appearance in Dr. Dolittle's soundtrack for 1998, singing "That's why I Lie". He was the producer for the Mattel toys, where he wrote the music for several commercials. The song was the lead single from the R&B/Hip-Hop tribute Urban Renewal, in which the singer and producer co-produced songs. Norwood collaborated with the Neptunes, Rodney Jerkins and Lil' Kim as well as numerous other singers and producers on his sophomore studio album, This Isn't A Game. Atlantic Records released the album on June 26 2001. The album was made over 18 month period. The lead single "Wait A minute" reached #30 on the U.S. Hot 100. Billboard Hot 100 chart and #8 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. "Formal Invitation" was at #54 on R&B's chart. Norwood then returned to the studio and completed his third studio album Raydiation with the assistance of his producers Rodney Jerkins (Timbaland), Rob Egerton, and R. Kelly. The album, a joint venture between Sanctuary Records and Ray-J’s label Knockout, an independent label Knockout It came out in North America on September 27, 2005. It was released at the number 48 on the Billboard 200 charts, selling 18,321 copies within the first week. "One Wish" the album's title track, received a resounding reception in the US, UK and Ireland. It also made it to the top 20 in New Zealand. Raydiation sold over 400 000 copies in the United States. Norwood was cast as D-Mack on UPN's One On One[66. Both shows featured Ray's character as a half-brother/cousin on Moesha as well as a brother in One on One.
