Method Man

Method Man was a prominent member of Wu-Tang Clan as they rose to the heights of hip-hop. Method Man was the sole member to have an individual track in the band's debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36) Chambers. Method Man was also the first Clan member to release a solo album under the group's unique contract, which permitted members to release albums on any label. Method Man signed with Def Jam Recordings despite the fact that Elektra Records' A&R man Dante Ross wanted to sign Method Man in the same way that Ross had signed Ol' Dirty Bastard. Tical (1994) was the solo album by Method Man, was well-loved and critically acclaimed. It reached the top spot in the American charts and sold more than 1 million copies. The album's most popular track "All I Want" was later remixed by Mary J. Blige and was awarded the Grammy ("I Will Always Be There for you/You're all I need"). Method Man became friends with The Notorious B.I.G. in New York City, and was the sole artist on his debut album Ready to Die. On the album of Spice 1's AmeriKKKa's Nightmare the rapper was featured in the track "Hard 2 Kill". He also appeared in 1995's "Got the Flava" which was a Showbiz as well as an A.G. album. He also appeared in the Batman Forever soundtrack. RZA created his own track, The Riddler. A video with footage from the film was also released. Method Man was featured on Tupac Shakur's album from 1996, All Eyez on Me. He performed the track "Got My Mind Made up" along with Redman and his collaborator on the track Redman (Daz, Kurupt, and Inspectah Deck), whose lyrics didn't make it onto the album. But the song's name "Rebel IN" is still heard throughout the song as it fades.
