Lewis Hamilton

Sir Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton MBE HonorFREng, a British racing driver, is currently competing in Formula One for Mercedes. In Formula One, Hamilton has achieved a record seven World Drivers' Championship titles (tied with Michael Schumacher), and holds the record for the most wins (103) and pole positions (103) and podium finishes (191) as well as other records. born and raised in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, Hamilton was accepted into the McLaren young driver programme in 1998. This led to the possibility of a Formula One drive with McLaren from 2007 to 2012, making Hamilton the first and to date, the only black driver to race in the series. Hamilton was runner-up by one point over Kimi Raikkonen during his debut season. The following year, he won his maiden title in a dramatic manner, making a crucial overtake on the final lap of the final race of the season to become the then-youngest Formula One World Champion in the history of the sport. Hamilton was forced to leave McLaren after six years, and joined Mercedes in 2013. He was required to adopt a turbo-hybrid motor for the 2014 regulations. This was the start of a long and successful career for Hamilton. He has since been awarded another six drivers' championships. The consecutive wins came in 2014 and 2015 amid a fierce competition with his Teammate Nico Rosberg. After Rosberg's retirement Sebastian Vettel, Ferrari's Ferrari driver, became Hamilton's most close opponent. In two championship fights, Hamilton twice won despite mid-season points deficits to win consecutive titles in 2017, and in 2018. The fourth and third consecutive wins were won in 2020 and 2019 to match Schumacher's record of seven titles for drivers.
