Kelly Hu

 Hu was born in Honolulu (Hawaii) to Juanita Perez and Herbert Hu. Herbert Hu is a salesperson, exotic bird breeder, and engineer drafter in Honolulu. Hu was the child of divorced parents. 2. Glenn is her brother. He is an officer in the Resource Management Department of the United States Army. She's from Chinese, English and Hawaiian origin. She attended school at Maemae Elementary as well as Kamehameha Schools, Honolulu. Since childhood, Hu has been a enthusiastic dancer and singer. Hu was in the footsteps of her Japanese cousin, who was a model with a lot of success. Kelly Hu was crowned Miss Hawaii Teen USA. She was also a contestant in Miss Teen USA 1985. This resulted in Kelly Hu the third Miss Teen USA titleholder , and the first Asian American winner. Hu stated that her mother had told her that America was not ready for an Asian role model. After winning, she realized that she wasn't permitted to participate in any other non-contest related events during her reign. But, the rule was later amended.
