Eazy-E

Eric Lynn Wright (September 7 1964[2- - - March 26, 1995), known professionally as Eazy-E was an American rapper who helped propel West Coast rap and gangsta hip-hop by directing the group N.W.A and its label Ruthless Records. He is often referred to as the "Godfather of Gangsta Rap"Born and raised in Compton, California, Wright had several legal troubles before forming Ruthless in 1987. After a brief solo career that included frequent collaborations with Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, they teamed up, forming N.W.A at the end of the year. Straight Outta Compton was N.W.A’s first studio album. It came out in 1988. The album was controversial upon its release, and is now ranked among the most memorable and influential albums of all time. In 1991 the group released their album Niggaz4Life, their third and final studio album. Soon after, N.W.A disbanded. Eazy-E also became involved in bitter rivalries with himself and Ice Cube and Dr. Dre who left for solo careers in 1989 and 1991, respectively. In his return to solo work, Eazy-E released two EPs. He was still a major person behind the scenes. From 1993 until 1994, he joined and nationalized Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Eazy-E passed away from complications of AIDS in 1995 after being admitted unexpectedly to the hospital.
