Amanda Michelle Seyfried, /'saIfred/SY-fred was born December 3, 1985. She is an American actress. Born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania, she began modeling at the age of 11 and ventured into acting at the age of 15 and had frequent roles on the show, including Lucy Montgomery on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns (1999-2001) as well as Joni Stafford in the ABC soap opera All My Children (2003). Seyfried gained fame following her first feature film, Mean Girls (2004), and her recurring role as Lilly Kane and Sarah Henrickson on the television show CW/Hulu Veronica Mars (2004–2006). Mamma Mia! (2008) and its sequel Mamma Mia! Mamma Mia! We Go Again (2018), Jennifer's Body (2009), Dear John (2010), Letters to Juliet (2010), Red Riding Hood (2011), In Time (2011), Les Miserables (2012), A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014), Ted 2 (2015), and First Reformed (2017).Seyfried received critical praise for her performance as Marion Davies in David Fincher's biopic Mank (2020) which earned her nominations for the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for the Best Supporting Actress. Her performance was highly praised for her performance in Elizabeth Holmes, the lead actress in The Dropout (222). For this role she received the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Lead actress in an anthology series or Movie. Time magazine named her one of the top 100 influential people around the globe in 2022.
