Alicia Amanda Vikander, /vI’kaend@r(listen) (listen) was born 3 October 1988. Vikander has been awarded numerous awards such as an Academy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Critics' Choice Movie Award. Vikander was born in Gothenburg and studied as a ballet-dancer at the Royal Swedish Ballet. Her acting career began in Swedish short films as well as television series. She gained fame for her role in the drama show Andra Avenyn (2008-2010). She made her film debut in Pure (2010), for which she was awarded the Guldbagge Award for Best Actress. The film gained more attention in 2012 for playing Kitty in Joe Wright's version of Anna Karenina and Queen Caroline Mathilde in the Danish film A Royal Affair.Vikander received worldwide notoriety for her performance in the film as Vera Brittain in Testament of Youth (2014) as a humanoid robot from Ex Machina (2014), for which she was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, as well as Gerda Wegener in The Danish Girl (2015) and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Forbes named Vikander on their 30 Under 30 list in 2016. She also appeared in the action film Jason Bourne (2016) in the role of Lara Croft in the adventure film Tomb Raider (2018), and in the fantasy film The Green Knight (2021).
